Schwabe is seeking a highly motivated Privacy, Standards and Commercial Contracts Associate to join its team. This position requires 3+ years of experience in the following areas:
Advising clients on their obligations under information privacy laws
Advising on e-mail marketing and online advertising and matters relating to cloud storage
Preparing privacy policies for websites and mobile applications
Negotiating contractual provisions allocating risk between clients and service providers related to personal data, trade secrets, and confidential information
Advising on representations and warranties related to privacy and security in M&A transactions
Advising on use of cookies, Google Analytics, and other common technologies in websites
Assessing and advising on matters related to technology standards
Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and intellectual property agreements
The ideal candidate will have:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills
Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work well in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
Strong client service ethic
Admission or eligibility for reciprocity to the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar, or California State Bar
