Washington Land Use Associate – Seattle or Vancouver, WA

Schwabe currently has an opening in its Seattle, Washington or Vancouver, Washington office for a land use associate attorney to join its Real Estate & Natural Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • 5 to 10 years of experience with land use matters, including:

    •  Research and review of development feasibility
    • Coordinate with permitting agencies to secure land use applications

    • Appellate briefing

    • Drafting land use applications

    • Preparing legal documents and agreements

    • Preparing and filing motions and complaints

    • Legislative tracking and analysis

  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid oral advocacy, legal research, analysis, writing, and communication skills. 

  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence.

  • Strong client service ethics.

  • Business development experience and strong interest in building a land use practice. 

  • Washington State Bar admission or eligibility for immediate reciprocity required

  • The pay range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000, depending on job skills and experience. The position is also eligible for discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year. A listing of benefits can be found here:
