Schwabe is seeking a highly motivated Privacy Partner to join its team and lead its privacy practice. This position requires 5+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Advising clients on their obligations under information privacy laws

  • Advising on e-mail marketing and online advertising and matters relating to cloud storage

  • Preparing privacy policies for websites and mobile applications

  • Negotiating contractual provisions allocating risk between clients and service providers related to personal data, trade secrets, and confidential information

  • Advising on representations and warranties related to privacy and security in M&A transactions

  • Advising on use of cookies, Google Analytics, and other common technologies in websites

  • Advising on incident response planning 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work well in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence

  • Strong client service ethic

  • Admission or eligibility for reciprocity to the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar, or California State Bar

  • U.S. and international privacy certifications
