Schwabe currently has an opening for a full-time attorney to join our estate and trust practice (“ETP”), which has grown to be one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The position can be based in Vancouver or Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of five years of legal work experience in the areas of:
- Wealth transfer strategies and advice, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and community-property agreements
- Trust and probate administration and controversies
- Charitable organization advice
- Guardianships and conservatorships
- Ability to provide tax support for Schwabe's business transition and succession planning practice
- Knowledge of community property law (Washington)
- Washington State Bar and Oregon State Bar admission required
- Strong entrepreneurial, growth, and client service mindset
- Some portable book of business and/or demonstrated success in developing a client portfolio
- Experience serving clients in at least one of our seven key industries, particularly within a law firm setting (preferred)

The base pay range for this position is $165,000-$225,000, depending on job skills and legal practice experience relevant to the position. Higher base compensation may be available for candidates depending on their portable book of business. The position is also eligible for productivity and discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year. In order to cultivate our collaborative culture and better serve our firm clients, most lawyer positions at Schwabe require in-person work in our offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility on Mondays and Fridays to work offsite.
