Business, Corporate, and Government Contracting Associate – Anchorage

Schwabe currently has an opening for a full-time lawyer to help support the firm's Indian Country and Alaska Native Corporations industry group, as well as government contracting in the firm's Business & Transactions department. The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Knowledge of and experience with Alaska Native Corporations and/or Federal Indian Law
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with transactional law
  • Knowledge of and experience with government contracting
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work hard in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence.
  • Strong client service ethics
  • Strong communication, self-initiative, and time management skills

  • The pay range for this position is $155,000 - $200,000, depending on job skills and legal practice experience relevant to the position. The position is also eligible for discretionary merit bonus consideration at the end of each calendar year. Construction Litigation Associate – Portland

Schwabe currently has an opening in its Portland, OR office for a construction litigation associate. The ideal candidate will have:

 
  • 3+ years of experience in transactional and/or litigation construction law (i.e., drafting pleadings, participating in discovery and motion practice, assisting in arbitration and trial, etc.; and construction contract review, drafting and negotiation, including AIA forms)
  • Substantive knowledge of lien laws, bid protests, delay and impact claims, and governmental contracts
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid research, analysis, writing, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
  • Strong client service ethics
  • Strong communication, self-initiative, and time management skills
  • Interest in business development in the real estate/construction industry

Land Use Associate – Portland

Schwabe currently has an opening for a full-time lawyer to help support our Land Use practice as a part of the Real Estate & Natural Resources Department. The ideal candidate will have:

 
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • At least 3 years of experience with real estate, environmental, land use, administrative law, general litigation, including:
    • Appearance at public hearings
    • Administrative proceedings
    • General litigation including briefing and oral advocacy
    • Research and review of development feasibility
    • Appellate briefing
    • Analyzing administrative codes and regulations
    • Drafting land use applications
  • Practice experience in real estate and/or environmental law, administrative law, or litigation matters is a plus, and could be considered in lieu of the requisite land use experience. If requested, candidates may also be considered for a position in more than one of these practice areas.
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid research, analysis, writing, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence.

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) Degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, including drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and trial preparation 
  • Experience in general business litigation or complex commercial litigation
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional references, as well as solid legal research, writing, and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects and willingness to work hard in a team-oriented setting, but with significant independence
  • Strong client service ethics
  • Alaska State Bar admission or eligibility for reciprocity highly preferred
